Ready, Set, Go... It's Fall Season Performance Time!

We might not be sure how many more weeks of winter we will get, but we do have two weeks of Rock for you with our 2023 Fall Season Performances! First up we will be performing at the Old Ox Brewery in Ashburn on Sunday, February 4th. Then we're back at The Filling Station in Arlington on Saturday, February 10th! Both shows are All-Ages, Family Friendly and FREE! Bring your entire crew for a full day of awesome rock music, food, drinks & fun!

And Just Like That Our Spring Season Is Set To Launch!

Don't look now, but our Spring Performance Season starts in a few short weeks. If you haven't signed up yet, there's still time and room to join a band! We had a sixth sense that this would be the biggest season ever, so we've added a 6th Show! If you are not sure which group is the best fit, or still has room, just reach out to Brian and he will spring into action!

Spectacular Jamtacular!

We would like to give a HUGE School of Rock shout-out to our fellow House Bands from SOR Alexandria, Ashburn, Cleveland Park, Columbia, and Silver Spring for helping make Jamtacular at the Filling Station such a memorable Rock Fest! We got to hang with some old friends, and make a bunch of new ones! If you were not able to attend this time, don't fret as we plan to get the bands back together as soon as we can! And thanks again to all the SOR Owners, Music Directors, Studio Managers, Staff, The Filling Station, and most importantly, these amazingly talented House Band musicians, for making all this magic happen!

We SOR'd at Club Phoenix! 

JV House Band started their new year off with a splash and welcomed its new members to the stage! They literally rocked the club... Club Phoenix that is, at the Vienna Community Center. This gig was a "For Teens, by Teens" event, that we look forward to every year! Thanks to Club Phoenix for always being a great host, and throwing such a fun event! We salute you!!

Summer might seem far away after the last couple snowy days, but it will be Rock Camp season before you know it! Our legendary Summer Rock Camps are enrolling now! We even get an extra week this year. That's right, there are seven weeks of our rockin' camps this summer! Check out the list below and join your band now!

SUMMER CAMP 2024 INTERN PROGRAM! 

Have you attended camp at School of Rock, and always wanted to be one of the Student Interns? Well, this Summer is your chance! Students ages 12 and up that are actively enrolled in the Performance Program are eligible to participate in our Summer Intern Program. Interns will learn leadership skills through mentoring campers, get to hang out with their peers, and have fun rocking out. The sign-up information will be posted soon, so stay tuned!

Meet SOR Bassist Henry D!

What is your favorite thing about School of Rock Vienna?  My favorite thing about SOR Vienna is all the opportunities! There are lots of other places to learn music, but here I get the chance to at real music venues!

What is one of your favorite things you’ve learned from your time here so far? I've learned how to play Big Shot in the Billy Joel vs Elton John show.

What advice would you give to all the new SOR student musicians? My advice to new SOR students is to keep playing! Learn your songs for the shows, but also stay interested and learn other songs for fun.

Inclement Weather Close/Open Procedures

It's almost that time of year again, so here's a reminder about our Inclement Weather Policy. We do not follow the county school closures. Frequently they make decisions in the morning based on whether or not the buses can maneuver through the neighborhoods. We make our decision to open/hold in person lessons or groups based on whether or not our staff can safely come to work. Once we have that, we will announce our "Open In Person" or "We're Going Online" status on inclement weather days by 1PM by sending you an email (Pike 13) and posting on our main SOR Vienna Facebook page and in our BAND groups. So be sure to check your inbox and social media prior to heading out. And stay warm out there!
